New Year’s Storytime for Kids

The new  year is upon us. Every year we celebrate the ending of one year and the beginning of a new year. I have always had a hard time finding storytime ideas for plain old New Years. Seems like there is always a lot of stuff for the Chinese New Year, for kids, but not a lot for the average every year new year.   I did find some books that are fun to read though:

Aesop’s Fables – The Wind and the Sun

Aesop’s Fables – The Wind and the Sun is a great fable about why it is better to be nice than to be mean. It seems like all our kids get to see now a days is, vindictive, rude cartoons and stories that teach them to only think of themselves. It is important for kids to remember that “honey catches more flies than vinegar”. They need to learn more about being kind to others.
