A fun preschool activity using Richard Scarry’s Busytown books is easy to create. The characters in the book are all animals that portray all the different facets of life. There are firefighters, bakers, policemen, moms, dads, children doctors, teachers, florists, and many many more. All of his characters are loveable animals such as racoons, rabbits, owls, bears, pigs, cats and dogs.
This Sheepish preschool craft should make any Storytime with Preschoolers fun. The crafts are simple and fun. I have included some really clever rhymes and fingerplays to go with them. To begin this summer time fun picnic story time spread some picnic blankets out on the floor and place a couple of picnic baskets near by. Give each child a napkin and have them pretend they have their favorite picnic food to eat. Let them tell you what they are “eating”.
