Childrens Crafts can be fun with Dr. Suess books. There are SO many ideas that have come to my mind. It was hard to even decide which books to highlight. I decided to go with my own children’s favorites which are The Foot Book, Fox in Socks and There’s a Wocket in my Pocket.

Easy Crafts are easy to do with Where the Wild Things Are. Maurice Sendak won the coveted Caldecott Award for this book, which he definitely deserved for this book. It brilliantly combines the words and pictures perfectly.

Arts and crafts for kids can be approached many ways. My favorite waythough is through Story Time. I recently started a series of posts highlighting Bill Peet’s wonderful and whimsical Story books.
Free coloring pages seemed like the only way to do a storytime craft for the great Bill Peet. He was one of the greatest illustrators of the twentieth century and I didn’t even know about him til I was all grown up.
A fun preschool activity using Richard Scarry’s Busytown books is easy to create. The characters in the book are all animals that portray all the different facets of life. There are firefighters, bakers, policemen, moms, dads, children doctors, teachers, florists, and many many more. All of his characters are loveable animals such as racoons, rabbits, owls, bears, pigs, cats and dogs.
This Sheepish preschool craft should make any Storytime with Preschoolers fun. The crafts are simple and fun. I have included some really clever rhymes and fingerplays to go with them. Deanna, my mother-in-law finds and also writes the cutest rhymes and fingerplays, so I had to include her Sheepish ones with this post.
