Today I am writing about preschool fun with fairy tales and Rhymes. The preschool craft for storytime is a fun one. I got the idea from the Tree House Children’s Museum. I hope you enjoy this storytime craft!
Games in education is a great idea. A young child won’t see that they are doing math or spelling – what they will see is that they are winning the game. The concepts you are trying to teach them will sink through without them even knowing.
My mantra for children has always been, “process is more important than product.” Meaning, it doesn’t matter what it looks like in the end, did you have fun making it? Drawing it? Or forming it? Those are the only questions that really matter. I have taught art in the schools for years and occasionally I get a teacher who is impossible to work with as they can’t separate “grades” from creativity. They want to grade the children’s art.
This Storytime is about planting and growing things for preschool. There are three little fingerplays and a song to go with storytime, as well as three book suggestions and a simple craft to print and make. Enjoy!
